Most supplement websites hide how they make money and why they recommend certain products. We don't. Here is exactly how everything works.

How We Sustain This Platform
We are a member of the Amazon Associates Program (India). When you click a product link on our site and purchase through Amazon, we earn an affiliate commission from Amazon. This is how we keep the platform running.
This is our only revenue source. We do not charge users, sell data, accept paid placements from supplement brands, or run ads on our site.
Critically: a higher affiliate commission rate will never push a product higher in our rankings. Our brand selection is governed entirely by the quality criteria below.
How We Select Compounds
Every compound on SupplementWise goes through a structured review process:
Step 1: Literature Review
We search PubMed, Google Scholar, and Examine.com for human clinical trials (not animal or in-vitro studies). We prioritize randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and systematic reviews.
Step 2: Evidence Grading
Strong: Multiple RCTs with consistent results.
Moderate: Limited RCTs or strong observational data.
Emerging: Preliminary research, promising but not conclusive.
Traditional: Ayurvedic or traditional use without modern trials.
Step 3: Dosage Calibration
All dosage recommendations come directly from clinical trials — not from manufacturer labels or marketing claims. We adjust for Indian body weights and dietary patterns.
Step 4: Safety Screening
We compile contraindications and drug interactions from medical databases, clinical literature, and regulatory sources. Any compound with serious safety concerns gets flagged prominently.
How We Select Brands
Not all supplement brands are created equal. Here is our brand evaluation process:
| Criteria | Requirement | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| FSSAI Registration | Mandatory — no exceptions | Pass/Fail |
| Third-Party Testing | USP, NSF, or equivalent | High |
| Label Accuracy | Declared ingredients match actual content | High |
| Amazon Rating | Minimum 4.0 stars | Medium |
| Review Count | Minimum 500 verified reviews | Medium |
| Certifications | GMP, ISO, organic (when applicable) | Medium |
| Form & Bioavailability | Uses clinically studied forms | High |
Products that don't meet FSSAI requirements are automatically excluded regardless of other factors. A higher Amazon commission rate has zero influence on our brand selection.
What We Don't Do
- We never recommend a product because it pays a higher affiliate commission.
- We never accept paid placements, sponsored recommendations, or brand partnerships that influence our picks.
- We never create fake urgency, scare tactics, or exaggerated health claims.
- We never claim to replace medical professionals. Always consult your doctor.
- We never sell or share your assessment data with anyone.
Our Research Sources
We draw from these databases and resources:
- • PubMed / NCBI — Primary source for clinical trial data
- • Examine.com — Independent supplement research aggregator
- • WHO — Global health guidelines and RDA values
- • ICMR — Indian Council of Medical Research dietary guidelines
- • FSSAI — Food Safety and Standards Authority of India
- • Cochrane Library — Systematic reviews
Every compound page on our site links to the specific studies that support our recommendations. We encourage you to read them yourself.
